UUUGGGGHHHH 2

I just noticed that Piper is in heat. So now along with the farts, and poo being dragged in, and paper and whatnots shredded through the house... now there will be blood everywhere too. Goodie goodie gumdrops.

Uggghhh....

So I took some pics from our dinner with my grandparents the Sunday before Christmas... However, I totally forgot to take any pics the actual day of Christmas. It felt kinda weird. Even with all the preparation and excitment, it just didn't feel like Christmas. I don't know why. Maybe cause we didn't get up and open presents right away, cause we had to make it over to my parent's house before they left for Pinetop. Or maybe cause I didn't get my laptop at Christmas, and so it didn't feel like I got anything major. I don't know what exactly but it just didn't even feel like Christmas. Or maybe cause I am totally fed up with our adorable pups. Every Christmas eve we have decided to get eachother an ornament and open it so we can put it on our tree. Well I went and picked an awesome one out, wrapped it up nicely, and put it on our table. When we got home, Adam noticed his ornament strewn across the living room floor. Luckily I was able to superglue it back together. So here is a tally of what the dogs have eaten in the last 3 days. (Mind you, we "think" we put everything away, but Chester has a reach on him).
-One wrapped ornament box, and one ornament
-2 computer cables
-3 jewelery boxes with the jewelery still in them.
-1 of Adams presents that was in the box
They also promptly shredded up one of their toys that they got for Christmas.
And numerous boxes and paper.
They've also had the poops, so when they come back in from outside they drag poo in.

We are at our wits ends...We walk them, we play with them, and they still seem to find our best stuff and eat it. We just don't know what to do! Their cutness saves them from us killing them, but we still don't like them most of the time. So all of that happened within the last 3 days. So I do believe that had something to do with how Christmas kinda got mucked up with annoyance! UUUUGGGGHHHHH! So if anyone has any ideas on what we can do to make them stop tearing things up it would be greatly appreciated! I hope everyone had a great Holiday!

This is 2 of my grandparents dogs, Finley (the furry one) and Maggie...aka Meatloaf

Do you smell that?

One other thing I love about this time of year is the smells! I love all the smells. I love the Cinnamon and apple candles.

I also love the smell of fresh baked cookies. I love the smell of gingerbread cookies. Maybe next year I will get one of those kits that you can make a gingerbread house!

I also love the smell of fresh Christmas trees! mmmmmm. This year we got a live one but it doesn't smell that much cause it is still in a pot. But I still love it. But that is why they invented pine tree smelling candles!

And last but definately not least of my favorite smells this time of year. I love walking outside and breathing in the smell of fireplaces. I love it. That is one of those smells that signal winter. I love it. It even smells better when you are outside of the city and it's just fresh air and fireplace. No smog mixed in too.
So here is to all the wonderful smells of the season!

Sing....Sing a Song...

Another thing that I love about Christmas time is all the Christmas music. Granted, I try to stay away from it as much as I can before Christmas (Since they started playing it at Halloween this year). But I do love it. I hear a Christmas song and it instantly puts me in a good mood. There are some Christmas songs that make me cry. There are some that uplift my spirits. And then there are some that make me curse the day someone recorded it and change the channel (i.e. The hippopotamus song, and that stupid Christmas shoes song...blech, spare me). So here is to all those Christmas songs that we hear every year!

BRRRRR.....

Today was the best day yet! It was cold, rainy, and cloudy outside! These have to be one of my favorite days ever! I spent the day baking and then I had some hot chocolate. This is one of my favorite things...cold weather. At this time of year I wish I lived somewhere where it snows! I would love just once to wake up to an actual white Christmas. I know that everyone who has or is living in a place with snow would love to tell me that it is miserable. But I don't care. At least once I want to live in snow. Maybe someday. But for now I will enjoy the cold rainy weather that we don't get too often here in sunny Arizona.
So here is to winter weather.

Oh Tannenbaum...

Today we are planning on going out and picking out our tree! I am excited cause we are going to get a live one this year. We have a really nice pre-lit fake tree that we got last year. But there are 2 factors that prohibit us from using it this year. The 1st factor is we just don't have anywhere to put it. The 2nd factor.... our puppies would probably eat it. So we are getting a live tree. I am really excited because I haven't had the smell of a real tree in our house in a while. So here is to Christmas trees!

Shopping

I love Christmas shopping. I really like going out at least a couple of times after Thanksgiving and enjoy all the shops decked out in their Christmas decorations. All while Christmas music is blaring over the loud system. It's crowded but fun! Call me crazy.

Dear Santa....

I love Santa! I know that I am 28 years old and married and actually have no kids,but you know what? I still like to believe there is a Santa Claus out there! Even though there is no longer any presents under my tree from Santa...I understand. He has to concentrate on the kids! And that is something that I am absolutely looking forward to when we have kids. Having the magic of Santa back in the house! So here is a tribute to my favorite jolly round guy!

"...Down the chimney St. Nicholas came with a bound.
He was dressed all in fur, from his head to his foot,
And his clothes were all tarnished with ashes and soot;
A bundle of toys he had flung on his back,
And he looked like a peddler just opening his pack.
His eyes -- how they twinkled! his dimples how merry!
His cheeks were like roses, his nose like a cherry!
His droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow,
And the beard of his chin was as white as the snow;
The stump of a pipe he held tight in his teeth,
And the smoke it encircled his head like a wreath;
He had a broad face and a little round belly,
That shook, when he laughed like a bowlful of jelly.
He was chubby and plump, a right jolly old elf,
And I laughed when I saw him, in spite of myself;
A wink of his eye and a twist of his head,
Soon gave me to know I had nothing to dread;
He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work,
And filled all the stockings; then turned with a jerk,
And laying his finger aside of his nose,
And giving a nod, up the chimney he rose;
He sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a whistle,
And away they all flew like the down of a thistle.
But I heard him exclaim, ere he drove out of sight,
"Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good-night."

Christmas is great!

I love all the nativity scenes! It is what Christmas is truely about. The birth of Jesus. We should all take the time out to enjoy and reflect about what this season is all about. I was going to go buy me a nativity but was pleasantly surprised when I was looking at my box of Christmas stuff and saw the one my mom-in-law gave me last year! Needless to say I was happy! I just had to put it up really high so my dogs wouldn't get to it and eat the wise men and the baby Jesus! Naughty dogs.

Funny Hats

So this one is sorta for my cousin Mandy. Well, another thing that I love about Christmas is putting funny hats on my puppies. Since I don't have any kids yet I have to make due with embarassing my pups. But the thing is they will only hate me for a minute... about 30 seconds to be exact. As opposed to kids that will bring it up for the rest of their lives. Oh don't get me wrong... I will totally make fools of my kids at the holiday season. If only for the pure enjoyment of showing their future spouses!! hehe... So here are some cute festive pictures of our babies!!

More Christmas goodies!

Speaking of Christmas goodies... I love baking at Christmas. Throughout the year I will bake things from time to time. But at Christmas...I go crazy. I actually have had to cut back my list of baking goods this year, due to the economy schmuck. However, I am still totally excited to bake things for my good friends and family.
So here's to baking all the fun, fattening yummy treats at Christmas!!

Who likes presents?!?!?

Christmas presents rock! First of all... I love giving presents to people. Whether you give it anonymously to a friend who needs it, or if you watch people open it up right in front of you. It is a great feeling to give. I love searching (or making) just the perfect gift for your family and friends. I also have an affinity for wrapping presents. I have always been my families designated wrapper. So now that I'm on my own I petition my mom to see if she needs help wrapping things! I know pretty cheesy. I just love it tho! And now, I suppose, to the selfish parts of gifts. I love recieving them. Well... let me clarify it a bit. I love waking up on Christmas morning and seeing all the presents under the Christmas tree! It is a beautiful sight!

Another fav Christmas thing!

I love Christmas lights... I love all things that twinkle and sparkle and glow in the dark! I love driving around and looking at peoples creative ways of putting up lights. (However do not misjudge this for me liking all things people put outside their house at Christmas... I hate those blow up things! blech) Now houses are a treat but my favorite is the Temple lights. Every year I feel like a kid again as I walk around the Temple grounds, all bundled up, like I'm walking around a winter wonderland! So here are some pretty pictures of some Temples.

These two have to be my favorites. Only because they are our Temple here in good ole AZ. I really love that full on view of it.

These 2 are of the SLC Temple I believe. There were so many beautiful pictures of the Temple lights at all different Temples. So these are just a couple. I urge all those close to a Temple to go check it out. And grab a cup of hot coco before you go, it makes the experience even more pleasurable!

Christmas

Another thing that I absolutely love about Christmas is all the awesome Christmas movies! Not only are they hilarious, but they have provided many needed quotes from time to time. Adam and I love sittin around and watching some of the favorites. So here are some of our favorites:

An oldie but a goody! I love National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation!! Favorite part? Probably would have to be when he is trying to get the lights to work on his house. But basically the whole thing is good.

Ahhh... Rudolph... another favorite. I remember watching this all my life every Christmas. When I was little I had little stuffed reindeer's from the movie, it was Rudolph and his gal pal. I loved them.

Elf is a rather new favorite. I love Will Ferrell and this is an awesome movie. Favorite part? When he drinks the whole 2 liter of soda and then burps for like 5 minutes and at the end says "Did you hear that?" I laugh out loud every time!

And last but most definitely not least... A Christmas Story. My absolute favorite movie of all time. Not just of the Christmas time movies. Favorite part? All of it! But if I had to pick a part...hmmm... all I would have to say is .."I CAN'T PUT MY ARMS DOWN!!"

Now these are just a few of our favorites. Also among the other favs are like Home Alone, and The Santa Clause.. etc. Pretty much anything Christmas I love. And if anyone reading this has not at least seen all these movies (you know who you are) Then put it on your list of movies to see before you die! Merry Christmas!

Another Christmas Love...

Another thing I love about Christmas is the term.... Merry Christmas. Too many people say happy holiday's because they think someone will get offended. But in reality, the majority of America are Christians in some form or another. And it's not like the people who aren't wear a sign around their neck (It's not like it's the time of the gestapo or anything). So who are we to know who is what. I love Christmas and I believe that it is a time to remember Christ and all he did for us. And if someone is offended... Well then they can deal with it. I would deal with it if someone told me something different.I believe that people have become too overly sensitive these days. There was a story that I really liked... Last Christmas I saw on the news this store somewhere in the mid-west, was giving everyone a discount if they came in and said "Merry Christmas". They were trying to bring it back. So all I have to say is:

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

Things I love about Christmas!

So for the month of December, I have decided to do something everyday about everything that I love about the Christmas season. It is my favorite time of the year. I wait in anticipation for the month of November to be over. And when It's finally here... I just drink it all in. I love Christmas. So here is day one of what I love about Christmas.

I love to decorate for Christmas. This holiday is the only one I decorate for, so when I do it, I do it as much as I possibly can. Unfortunately I am only in an apartment, so I can't do wo many lights outside. However, I do try. So here is to decorating!
