He's Here!!!

Samuel Adam,

One week ago to this day we were anxiously awaiting for Monday to roll around and make our way to the hospital to have a c-section done to get our little boy. Earlier that week I had an ultra sound because my belly was measuring big, and when that was all said and done the verdict came back with Sam at about 10 lb 1 oz. !!! YIKES! So after talking to my dr., she recommended that I get a c-section since it was my first one and we didn't know how I was built or if his shoulders would be too wide, etc. I really didn't want to have a c-section. I felt like a failure as a woman because I was going to have to have surgery instead of going through the right of passage as a mom and being in labor for hours upon hours. I cried for quite a few days. But in the end we just wanted him out safe and sound. So bright and early on 12-20-10, we made our way over to the hospital and within an hour of getting there I was on the operating table getting a spinal tap. (Which by the way being awake when you are getting opened up is extremely weird!) Within minutes of that taking place they popped him out and we had a baby!! Looking back I'm kinda glad that I didn't have to go through hours and hours of labor. Although, I'll probably never be able to have that experience (makes me a little bit sad), I went into the hospital starving and got to eat a full meal about an hour after surgery!! That was a plus. Also, I got to see my baby sooner. Although now I have to go through the whole recovering from major surgery, (which also isn't turning out to be as bad as I thought it would be) I'm just glad he is here. So here is a little time line of that day...

And there is Mr. Sam. I have never been so tired in my entire life but he sure is worth it! We are such proud parents.

Flibbity Flub and little fluff...

Well there hasn't been much going on lately. I've mostly just been preparing for the little guy to get here. Otherwise our life has been pretty dang boring. But I realized that I haven't blogged in a while so I figured I would just do a random selection of stuff. So here is a little bit of what we have been up to lately.
In October I was at 32 weeks along... and had my baby shower! It was so much fun and I got a ton of stuff. Or should I say that Sam got a ton
of stuff.

Then we got to Halloween. We didn't do much, just stayed home and handed out candy.... Tons and tons of candy! There were so many kids. They were all so cute though. Except the older teenagers who just put a mask on and want candy. But it was still fun. Adam carved a pumpkin too!

We finally got the nursery done. Here is Sam's crib area. I love his nursery. Sometimes I just go in there to check it out. The dogs also equally love going in there. I'm pretty sure they think that we fixed up that room for them and they can't understand why we won't let them go in there!

In November we went and saw comedian Dane Cook. He was hilarious. At one point in his show I was literally crying I was laughing so hard! It was great. And then the next day was Thanksgiving.

Of course I forgot to take pictures of and of the Thanksgiving activities. But there weren't that many.

The seasons are finally changing. Although I am very very dissapointed that this past week has been in the high 70's to low 80's. It just doesn't feel like Christmas time. It really needs to get colder.

But there is a couple of trees outside my work that are changing colors and they are so pretty! So see....some trees do change color here in hot AZ.

Another thing we seem to be doing a lot of lately is bathing the dogs. We have a big dirt patch where the pool used to be in the back yard. And it seems that the pups have decided that they like to roll around in the dirt.

They come in totally brown and nasty all the time! So this is after one of their baths one day. Totally gross!! By the next day they were back to rolling in the dirt! Sheesh! Dirty little piggies.

Which brings us to where we are now. Christmas time!! (AKA ~ almost time to push!)

We are getting so excited, nervous, etc! But I was able to at least put up our tree and this weekend we are planning on at least putting up a couple of lights outside.

This is just an ornament on my tree. I got a new phone partly as a Christmas gift but mostly cause mine was slowly dying and starting to be really fickle. So there is this cool camera app that I was testing on the tree. So hence the picture of one of my fav ornaments!~

Chester particularly likes the tree. He has decided that if he walks around the bottom of it, the tree then turns into a great back scratcher. Here I caught him right after so he is looking loverly by the tree. He's ready for Christmas!~

So that's about it that's been going on. Basically we have just been preparing! Waiting as of writing this I am 39 weeks. Just one more week left. I am ready. The end of pregnancy is kinda painful and uncomfortable. But I have really had a great time with it. It truly is a miracle at how this whole thing moves along.

So Sam's due date is the 19th, but if he isn't out by then the 20th we are going to be induced (with all fingers crossed) because I want to be home by Christmas. So we will keep everyone updated!

Merry Christmas Everybody!!
