One week ago to this day we were anxiously awaiting for Monday to roll around and make our way to the hospital to have a c-section done to get our little boy. Earlier that week I had an ultra sound because my belly was measuring big, and when that was all said and done the verdict came back with Sam at about 10 lb 1 oz. !!! YIKES! So after talking to my dr., she recommended that I get a c-section since it was my first one and we didn't know how I was built or if his shoulders would be too wide, etc. I really didn't want to have a c-section. I felt like a failure as a woman because I was going to have to have surgery instead of going through the right of passage as a mom and being in labor for hours upon hours. I cried for quite a few days. But in the end we just wanted him out safe and sound. So bright and early on 12-20-10, we made our way over to the hospital and within an hour of getting there I was on the operating table getting a spinal tap. (Which by the way being awake when you are getting opened up is extremely weird!) Within minutes of that taking place they popped him out and we had a baby!! Looking back I'm kinda glad that I didn't have to go through hours and hours of labor. Although, I'll probably never be able to have that experience (makes me a little bit sad), I went into the hospital starving and got to eat a full meal about an hour after surgery!! That was a plus. Also, I got to see my baby sooner. Although now I have to go through the whole recovering from major surgery, (which also isn't turning out to be as bad as I thought it would be) I'm just glad he is here. So here is a little time line of that day...

And there is Mr. Sam. I have never been so tired in my entire life but he sure is worth it! We are such proud parents.
